Exodus rules

Established in 1966, St. Gabriel's Secondary School band also known as "Exodus" started with only 29 members. Within three years, the band attained its first Gold Award in the 1969 Marching Band Competition. Over four decades, the band has undergone many changes from being a Military Band to a Concert Band to its current status of a Symphonic Band. Since the appointment of their current Music Director Mr Lin Ah Leck in 1995, the band had improved remarkably. The testimony could be seen in its consistent achievements of Silver and Gold awards at the Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging for Concert Bands. Over the years, the band had performed extensively in numerous overseas concerts. In the past decade, the band participated in the International Music Festival in Kristianstad (Sweeden) and the Southern Cross Music Festival in Brisbane (Australia). Besides, it was also involved in music exchanges in Beijing, Osaka and Hong Kong in the recent years. As a local music group, the band has also performed actively. Among the more memorable ones include performances at the Istana, the Prime Minister’s visit for the Clean and Green Week, the Singapore SIA Cup and the testimonial match for soccer icon Fandhi Ahmad. Since 1999, the band has held public performances during its annual concert at the Victoria Concert Hall.
